Involvement & Time commitment:

2023 Cohort: Tending Descent Death Training starts September 30th and ends December 22nd or 23rd depending on class discussions, with one added Saturday in January 2024.

All classes will meet virtually, with an opportunity for group learning including a graveyard visit together for Colorado locals. Those who cannot meet in-person will have an equivalent to meet course needs.

Note: {In-person learning and initiation will depend on Covid-19 requirements +}

2023 Tentative Dates: Meeting Dates: Weekly, every Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm. The last day + initiation will be on Friday, December 22nd or 23rd depending on student needs.*

2023: One extra week & 2-hour call with Hannah and the 2023 Cohort together, virtually to connect, process, + digest closure, future plans, and wrap up any questions or needs. This will partake in January of 2024.

Each student will have a 30 minute call with Hannah each month.

Weekly Office Hours will be available: TBA @ 15-20 minute intervals.

***Students should plan on anywhere from 2-4+ hours outside of class time for completion of homework, 1:1 calls, projects, ritual, reading etc. each week.***

Attendance of all classes/ rituals is required, however if one cannot attend live it is okay. Recordings must at least be watched and homework completed if possible.

Many people feel the call of death work but do not know where to start. This training was created as a foundational tool that provides support to the budding death worker and teaches how to safely provide death work for others while protecting and tending to oneself in the process. Tending Descent is a culmination of what I have learned during my journey of becoming a death worker, by way of my own experiences and the wild witches + other brilliant, magical teachers I have learned from. This training will ask you to do deep reflection, dedicate to your practice and the work required of this program, and to be honest with yourself about your feelings about death, shadow work, grief, and other sensitive parts of self.

After this training it is my hope that you will have gone through a transformation of death and rebirth within yourself, your spiritual practice, and your love for death work and serving others. Your spiritual toolbox will be filled with rituals, spells, self care, ceremony, teachings, and new ways of looking at life and the ultimate promise of mortality. You will understand your role as community death worker and what you have to offer with your unique gifts and special magic. You will be grounded in your conviction and dedication to death work as community medicine.

When I first started my death work journey, I couldn’t find someone who necessarily practiced the practitioner work in the way that I envisioned and craved, and the way that I envisioned myself doing in the future. I have worked with many magical wise women, witches, and spiritual workers, don’t get me wrong, but a good deal of my own journey has been becoming my own teacher. I hope to be this kind of support to you that I was looking for in my foundation, so that you don’t have to feel alone in becoming the great worker in these liminal spaces that you are truly meant to be.

My work with Hannah has been essential to my growth. She is like the strong breeze I never knew I needed in my sails, always gently pushing me along towards connection with my ancestors and healing. Offered By: Hannah Haddadi is a Death Witch, Medium, Intuitive, Spiritual Worker, Community Herbalist, Writer & Poet. Based in Colorado, Hannah runs Mourning Light Divination in-person and remotely. She derives much of her knowledge and death work through her Persian, Swedish/German/English ancestry, personal experiences, and teachings she has learned by way of working with wise women, witches, and spiritual workers in the United States and England. Hannah has been seeing and working with the Dead since she was a child & has been deepening her own spiritual practices for over 10 years. She also graduated from Metropolitan State University with Honors in May of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Health Care and Human Services + Counseling.

Tending Descent Training will be taught class style, with required homework and reflection from its students. It will offer growth and connection within this community and a chance to get to know other folx interested in practicing as a spiritual death workers. This training involves setting up your own spiritual practice, devoting to your practice and growth of self, learning foundational tools of spiritual work and death work, as well as curating your own spiritual/deathly offering to the world.
